Guidelines for Authors

Manuscript Preparation Guidelines

Submitted manuscripts to the Global Journal of Science and Technology (GJST) should adhere to the following guidelines for readability, structure, and clarity. Manuscripts failing to meet these criteria will be returned to the authors for revision.

Article Types & Format

Original/Research Articles

These articles present unpublished data and provide detailed explanations of research methods, methodologies, and findings, supported by appropriate evidence.

Typical sections include:

Introduction: Describes the research aim and background.

Methods: Details the applied methods, study design, and participant selection.

Results: Presents the key findings of the research.

Conclusions: Discusses the implications of the findings for practical application or theory.

Review Articles

Comprehensive literature reviews on significant research topics, summarizing advancements and key developments in the field over time.

Case Reports

Descriptions of clinical conditions, symptoms, diagnoses, and treatments, often featuring novel cases, and including a review of related literature.

Editorials

Short articles written by the editor(s) or editorial team, offering insights on topical issues or journal matters.

Commentaries

Articles discussing specific research topics, including the challenges, advancements, or proposing potential solutions to existing problems.

Corrigendum

Articles addressing any corrections or adjustments due to author errors in previously published papers.

Expert Opinion

Articles written by experts in the field offering perspectives on advancements or providing critical insights into research.

Letters to the Editor

Brief communications addressed to the Editor-in-Chief, either in agreement, disagreement, or critique of published articles, or to provide a correction.

Perspective Articles

Articles providing personal viewpoints on relevant journal topics from the authors' perspectives.

Manuscript Structure

Cover Letter

  • Addressed to the Editor-in-Chief or Special Issue editor.
  • Includes the article title, a statement of submission agreement, mention of no multiple or duplicate submissions, and article type.
  • If applicable, include details regarding conference presentation or any prior related submissions

Title Page

  • Full title (maximum 130 characters).
  • Running title (maximum 75 characters).
  • Authors' full names and institutional affiliations.
  • Corresponding author’s contact details.
  • Clinical trial registry or grant details (if applicable).
  • Word count of the manuscript.

Abstract and Keywords

  • Concise abstract (maximum 300 words), outlining the research's rationale, objectives, results, and conclusions.
  • Include 3-5 keywords in alphabetical order for easy searchability.

4Manuscript Text:

  • Structured according to article type.
  • References are cited with corresponding numbers, superscripted at the end of the relevant statements.

Figures and Tables

  • Numbered in the order of citation within the text.
  • Tables should be placed after the reference list.
  • Figures should be submitted as separate files, with clear figure legends explaining figure parts.

Conflicts of Interest

Authors must declare any conflicts of interest to avoid post-publication discrepancies.

Acknowledgments

  • Acknowledge individuals or groups who contributed to the research but do not meet authorship criteria, as well as funding sources, medical writing assistance, or conference details (if applicable).
  • Written consent must be obtained from any individual acknowledged in this section.

References

  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of references.
  • References should be listed on a separate page, double-spaced, and numbered consecutively.
  • Cite references in the text, tables, and legends with Arabic numerals in parentheses.
  • Abbreviate journal names according to Index Medicus/Medline.
  • For unpublished studies, indicate the status (e.g., "in press").

Tables

  • Should be prepared using Word Table tools.
  • Tables must be numbered in the order of citation in the text, and references within tables should follow the main reference list.

Figure Legends

  • Should be included at the end of the manuscript.
  • Provide clear and concise explanations for each figure part.
  • References within legends should be numbered according to the figure citation in the text.

Figures and Illustrations

  • Figures must be numbered based on their citation in the text.
  • Figures should include a brief title and be submitted in high-resolution formats (e.g., .jpg, .png).
  • Clinical photographs requiring patient identification must have signed consent or be anonymized.

Supplementary Materials

Include any supplementary online material that supports the manuscript content, such as datasets or multimedia files.

Submission Process

Initial Submission

  • Authors should first ensure the suitability of their manuscript for Global Journal of Science and Technology.
  • Submissions should be made via our online system or via email attachment in .docx or .pdf format.
  • Include the cover letter, manuscript, figures, tables, and supplementary material.

Exclusivity

  • Manuscripts submitted to Global Journal of Science and Technology should not be under consideration elsewhere and must not have been published previously.

Peer Review

  • Once submitted, the manuscript will undergo an initial quality check for duplication or plagiarism.
  • Accepted manuscripts will undergo a peer review process, which typically takes 4-6 weeks.
